If you want to bring out your
best, Mirella Marsilio, owner of Mire-
lla’s Ladies Boutique suggests colour
blocking this holiday season. “It’s the
most flattering option for women with
full figures.” If you want to make
a great statement, Marsilio recom-
mends a leopard print colour block
dress. Add a punch of colour with
an orange or fuschia scarf to set off
the animal print.
Don’t forget the finishing
touches. Andrea Yesford, owner
of Toetally Nailed, says makeup is
“bold but on the neutral side. Add
punchy lips to make a statement
without being overdone. And
festive nails…a must! There is
always room for some sparkle in any
colour combination.”
As for the men, Dan Bishop from
Scrivener’s Men’s Apparel says 2014
is all about accessories. They can
“strengthen an old look and be a
great conversation starter for parties”.
Scrivener’s picks: playful socks, bow
ties, lapel pins, bracelets and the quint-
essential pocket square. Bishop says
depending on the event, “suits can be
worn with open neck shirts, but must
be accessorized with a pocket square,
lapel pin or both.” And while check
patterns are still on trend, Bishop sug-
gests trying on the new bold colours,
orange and red with navy!
