he weeks before the holidays are filled with a sense of antici-
pation. In Burlington downtown, the lampposts come alive
with sparkling lights, store windows take on a festive look,
and the hustle and bustle of holiday activities gets underway!
If you are looking for décor inspiration and unique gifts, look no further
than two standout stores on Brant Street, Fairhome and Centro Garden. En-
ter Fairhome and you will be swept up in the holiday spirit. Janet Sachade,
owner, loves this season and transforms the store with themed vignettes,
each telling their own story. One theme that will be played out this year
is ‘retro’. Look for classic mercury glass in decorative pedestal bowls, tea
light holders or large scented candle hurricanes that can be placed on the
tabletop or mantle. One of Sachade’s favourite finds to add to the tree is
the Christopher Radko Shiny-Brite ornament collection.
